As the first port electric power pilot project in Fujian Province, Xiamen Far Sea Container Terminal has received high attention and support from the leaders of Fujian Province, COSCO Shipping Group, and State Grid Xiamen Power Supply Company. It was officially put into operation on December 14, 2016. This means that in the future, ships docked at Xiamen Far Sea Container Terminal can directly supply power to ships through onshore power sources, reducing air and ocean pollution. It has important social and economic significance for promoting the construction of green ports.

On the morning of March 7, 2017, as a giant ship named EVERLISSOME LONOON slowly sailed into Xiamen Port's offshore port, the new generation VFPS series outdoor containerized intelligent shore power system jointly developed by Hope Senlan Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Ailinke Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. officially entered service.

Subsequently, the crew on board the vessel EVER LISSOME LONNON began to lay out high-voltage cables for connection to the ship. The shore crew connected the high-voltage cables to the shore power junction box in berth # 14 of the port, and EVER LISSOME LONNON had the conditions to connect to the shore power.

After checking the safety circuit connected to the ship, everything is ready. With a command from the overall commander of the ship, it is hoped that the Senlan VFPS series shore power supply system will enter a one click start program.

At 11:19:5 in the morning, the VFPS series shore power supply series officially entered the grid connection process. There was no impact during the grid connection process, and the load slowly transferred from the ship's generator system to the shore power supply system. After 10 seconds, the ship's generator system was successfully disconnected and officially powered by the VFPS series shore power supply.

After 11 hours of continuous operation, the generator was connected to the grid again at 22:5 in the evening, and the onshore power supply was successfully disconnected. At this point, the connection with the EVER LISSOME LONNON ship was successfully completed, and the connection was declared successful. This time, the shore power supply of the ship is 14823 kilowatt hours, with a maximum output power of 1658KW, a stable output voltage of 0.3%, and a stable output frequency of 0.1%.

We hope that the mature shore power design and control technology of the Senlan VFPS series shore power supply system can be reflected in Xiamen Yuanhai Port. The shore power supply system has: one key start technology, reverse power suppression technology, generator reactive power compensation technology, five power protection functions, disturbance free grid connection technology, AVR automatic voltage regulation technology, intelligent control technology for cooling fans, anti salt spray design, and so on.
